We are pleased to announce that the Joint Meeting of the 8th Japanese Selenium Research Society and the 13th International Symposium on Selenium in Biology and Medicine (Se2025) will take place from October 31 to November 2, 2025, in Sendai, Japan, at the Seiryo Campus of Tohoku University. This event will serve as a satellite meeting of ISSBM 13.
The aim of this international conference is to foster global academic exchange among selenium researchers. Discussions will cover selenium’s biological functions, pharmacological applications, and a broad range of topics from molecular mechanisms to clinical implementation, all through the lens of chemistry. Under the central theme, "Selenium Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Medicine," we will explore both the current understanding and future possibilities of selenium science, in the context of medicine, environment, nutrition, and quality of life in the 21st century.
The meeting will also provide an invaluable opportunity for early-career researchers and students to refine their research skills, engage in interdisciplinary collaboration, and gain a broader perspective through international exchange.
