Oral (Workshop)
The workshop program provides a platform for promoting cross-virus discussions on the molecular mechanisms underlying diverse phenomena in the viral life cycle and the development of novel experimental systems and antiviral strategies.
- ・Presentation time (tentative): 20 min, including 5 min. Q&A
- ・Please select your presentation type “Oral” → “Workshop” when you submit your abstract from the online submission page.
- ・Please select one from the workshops listed below:
(1) Molecular mechanisms of virus entry
This session focuses on the molecular mechanisms underlying viral entry into target cells.
The discussion topics include molecular mechanisms of cellular receptor binding, uncoating, and nuclear transportation of viral genomes.
(2) Regulation of viral gene expression and replication
This session focuses on the mechanisms of viral gene expression and replication in the post-entry step.
The discussion topics include the establishment of viral latency, persistent infection, and viral reactivation.
(3) Molecular mechanisms of virion formation and release
This session focuses on the molecular mechanisms of progeny virus production during the late stage of infection.
The discussion topics include viral protein folding, intracellular membrane trafficking, genome packaging, virion assembly, and budding from cells.
(4) Development of novel viral infection system
This session focuses on the development of novel viral infection and replication systems using advanced technologies.
The discussion topics include the application of genome editing technologies to modify host factors in tissue cultures or animal models and the application of organoid cultures.
(5) Development of novel antivirals and vaccines
This session focuses on the development of new antivirals and vaccines. The discussion topics include the development of new modalities and the repositioning of approved drugs for novel applications.
Type of Presentation /Language
The presentation language and the abstract body must be the same language.
If you would like to present in Japanese, please submit your abstract from the Japanese abstract submission page.
